WAYS TO EARN MONEY FOR OUR SCHOOL

ONE BIG EVENT PER YEAR:  Fall Walkathon

*We are allowed one big money raising event each year.  Walkathon is our BIG EVENT.

Additional fundraisers that bring in small amounts of money

The money we earned goes toward:  Playground equipment, field trip funds for every student, online reading programs (RAZ KIDS and Scholastic News), updating old equipment (microphone systems, projectors, etc.), classroom library expansions, library books, and more!

Collect BOXTOPs.  Turn them into school as soon as you have a sheet completed. Every completed BOXTOP sheet is worth $5.00.  If every child from Georgetown (approx 580) fills one sheet during the school year,  our school earns $2,750. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK EXPIRATION DATE!

Many thanks to Lori Simpson and all of you who are on her team of BOX TOP counters, trimmers and packers.  This is a great program that pays off because of all of YOU!

Fall Party Details

FALL PARTY

  • Fall party will be on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 2:15-3:15. Mrs. Reagan has sent out a notice that parents are welcome to come and HELP only!  Sorry, otherwise there is not enough space in the classrooms!
  • Thank you in advance to those of you have volunteered your time and/or items for our party! You may send in your donated items prior to the party date. However, if you signed up to bring the ice cream….please bring that at the time of the party.

I had a question about masks as students prepare for Halloween. See below for guidelines outlined by Mrs. Reagan:

  • NO MASKS during the school day, only for the party.  This means no masks in the hallway or on the bus loop or on the playground.
  • Party time masks: Only if they are NOT SCARY.  Who determines if they are scary – I do!  If there is a mask I believe might be too scary for others to see, it should NOT be brought to school.  Masks that are nice/friendly can only be worn during the class party!

Book IT! :)

BOOK IT! Our class is participating in the BOOK IT! Program to encourage reading at home.  You will receive a calendar starting October through March at the beginning of each month.  Each time your child reads 100 minutes a week at home they should mark it on their calendar.  At the end of each month, they can bring their calendar back to school and receive a coupon for a FREE personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut.

Try to make it a practice to record both, the class reading log AND the Book It! reading logs at the same time! For a free personal pizza, who wouldn’t?!
