We want to promote a healthy lifestyle to our students and the community.  Please help us reach our fundraising goal by supporting our Walkathon. We have teamed up with Get Movin’© to make this event fun and profitable with online mobile friendly technology!

KIDS HEART CHALLENGE! HELP US EARN MONEY FOR OUR SCHOOL!

Remember, more than 50% of kids are not getting the physical activity they need to be healthy. You’re helping to change that. We have a special incentive at our school.  If we can get 50% of our students registered and taking the healthy challenges, we will receive an additional $500 to purchase new PE equipment.  Help us reach our goal!  Get your student registered for Kids Heart Challenge today!

Kids Heart Challenge

Information about Kids Heart Challenge will be coming home with students today.  Please note that this fundraiser is for the American Heart Association, it does also helps us get P.E. Equipment for GT.  The Kids Heart Challenge Fundraiser registration is here:  February 6 until February 28.

When your child joins Kids Heart Challenge (formerly Jump Rope for Heart) they will hear from kids with special hearts and raise funds to help those born with heart defects.  Students learn about taking care of their own heart through fun challenges and activities for physical, social and emotional health.

Get online and register your child today here.

Please note that thank-you prizes earned by students will be handed out when they come to P.E. class.  Some prizes need to be ordered when the fundraiser is over and will be delivered sometime in March.  Any money donated after Feb. 28 will not earn prizes.

Thanks for your help!  Mrs. Nienhuis & Mrs. VanKoevering

Holiday Program: December 12, 2019

Fair Haven Ministries just down the road from Georgetown Elementary at the corner of Baldwin Street and 28th Ave.

Why is it held at a church?  Our elementary schools have grown so big that we need a big space to perform!  We are too big for the High School or Freshman Auditoriums.  Fair Haven seats about 1500 and graciously allows Hudsonville schools to rent their auditorium for our performances.

What time do students need to be there?
Students need to report to their assigned classroom 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE PROGRAM.

  • 6:30 – 7:00   K-2nd     (Students report at 6:15)
  • 7:45 – 8:15   3rd-5th   (Students report at 7:30)

It is very important not to be late so teachers have enough time to line students up in their riser orders, pass out props and make sure everyone who has a special part is accounted for. Please do not send your child to the classroom unsupervised or prior to their scheduled time.  Please keep their coats with you.

Where does my child need to go when they get to the church?
There will be signs directing you to your child’s classroom.

Candy Cane Sale

The annual fifth grade candy cane sale is officially here!

The annual candy cane sale has returned. Our fifth-grade classes will sell candy canes at school to help raise money for their end of year activities. This year the sale runs from Wednesday, December 4 through Wednesday, December 18. The cost for each candy cane is $1.00, and they will be delivered the same day they are ordered. Thank you for your support, and happy holidays!

P.E. C.A.R.E.S.

The annual P.E. C.A.R.E.S food drive will be starting on November 6.  We are asking for your help by bringing in non-perishable food items for Love Inc. in Hudsonville.  Food items to consider are canned vegetables and fruits, pasta, rice, baked beans, black beans, kidney beans, peanut butter, tuna fish, etc.

 (please no ramen noodles)

The food drive will continue until Nov. 21.  We will be keeping track of how many items each class brings in for the food drive.  The class with the most items at the end of the day on Nov. 21 will win a bowling trip to Hudsonville Lanes and a P.E. C.A.R.E.S t-shirt.

This is a great opportunity for our students to care for their community, thanks for sharing in this service project with us at Georgetown.
