What’s Coming Up – Week of February 3

  • Tests rescheduled:

  1. The test for unit #4-Life in Colonial America will be on Tuesday, February 3. Please have your child review the material from their study guide. Study Guide

  2. The math test for unit 4 (Multiplication) will be on Tuesday, February 3.

  • Don’t forget that each 5th grader needs to read 100 minutes each week and have parents sign the reading log.  To help reinforce responsibility we have a new 5th grade policy which is to have students who do not have their 100 minutes read and a signature will be making up this time during the last recess.  We will also include any undone homework from other areas of study in this new policy we have adapted.

ELA:

  • We are finishing up our persuasive essays. We will begin a study of some of the elements of poetry.

Tidbits

1. Students have a social studies test tomorrow. A review sheet came home earlier this week.

2. Students have a math test tomorrow over Unit 4.  A review sheet is coming home today to help review.

3. Hurrah….my class has earned an electronics day for  reaching 10 days of positive whole class behavior! Tomorrow will be our electronics day. For an hour tomorrow afternoon the students will be able to use electronic devices that they bring from home. What they play on them needs to be school appropriate and they need to be responsible for their own electronic device. If they do not have a device to bring…they may share with a friend. It will be fun…they earned it! 🙂
