Today was the last at home reading log for this school year! 🙂

Pink camp parent pick up forms due Tuesday, May 15.

T-shirt orders for field day are due on Friday, May 18. Since we’ll be gone at camp that day, please make sure you turn in your order and payment by Wednesday, May 16. 



What’s Coming Up – Week of May 7 – May 11, 2018





T.E.A.M. program started this week. T.E.A.M. stands for:  TEACHING, EDUCATING, AND MENTORING (T.E.A.M.)  and is a school liaison program put on by the Michigan State Police.  It features a school-based, “law related” curriculum, taught to by T.E.A.M. trained police officers.  T.E.A.M. will take place on Wednesdays and will be led by Deputy Smith from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

Important Dates:


  • May 9 – Medication Form / Camp Waiver form Due
  • May 11 – Early Release
  • May 15 – Let your child’s teacher know if you will be visiting during the day at Camp
  • May 17-18 – 5th Grade Camp

An important note from Mrs. Bretz….Each 5th grader needs to bring in a flashlight to use at the holiday program. Please send these to school with the students to practice with and use at the program next week. 🙂

Week of November 20-21


  • Thanksgiving break will be from Wed. November 22-Sunday, November 26th. Enjoy your family time!
  • There will be no reading log due on November 27th. I want the kids to enjoy the time off with family and friends. 🙂


Today was our first very cold day, and many students were not dressed warm enough for outdoor recess. The students will go outside for recess every day unless it is raining or below zero. Please make sure your child has warm clothes for recess at everyday school. Thank you.

What’s Coming Up – Week of October 23




  • Fifth grade Halloween parties will be on Friday, Oct. 27 from 2:15-3:15
  • Please send in any donations for the party by Wednesday, October 25th. Thank you! 🙂
  • Below is the link to sign up for donations for our party.
  • The fundraiser for 5th grade activities is on going. The Goodies Factory orders and payment are due Monday, Oct. 30. This information was blogged and sent home with the students on Thursday.


  • We are wrapping up Unit 2: Addition and Subtraction with Decimals.


  • Students have participated in book clubs and are gathering evidence to write a literary essay analyzing a character.


  • We are investigating how organisms affect the Great Lakes.




Let us celebrate! The past two days we have reach outstanding or higher on our whole class behavior chart!!!!!! 🙂 What awesome kids are in Georgetown Room 305! 🙂
