P.J./Comfy Day

With tomorrow being my birthday the kids asked if we could have p.j/comfy day on Monday, October 21st! I said that sounded like a plan. Therefore, tomorrow the students may wear p.j’s/comfy clothes and bring a stuffed animal if they wish! 🙂 It should be a happy day! 🙂

OOBER GOOBER AWESOME!

Our class was so on task  throughout the whole day that they moved up to OOBER GOOBER AWESOME on our classroom rainbow chart!  That is above outstanding! Great job 4th graders! 🙂

Parents, I sent home many of the students content writing review papers that we have worked on since the beginning of the year. Please take time to look at them with your child and ask them about the different writings they have done. I know your will be impressed! 🙂

Pizza Night! :)

Hello Georgetown Families!

Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow night is a MARCO’S Pizza Night.  This is a great way to earn money for Georgetown!  Easy too!!  Think of it this way……. it is a good way to get out of making dinner also.  What could be better?!  : )

Please remember when ordering to give them your student’s teacher name.  The class with the most participation will win a pizza party for lunch on behalf of MARCO’S Pizza!!

Enjoy your pizza!

Reading Logs

Just a reminder to ask your child each night to see his/her book log. Please discuss with them nightly how far they read that evening! I have been having multiple students not remembering to keep track of their reading on their reading logs! Thank you for taking the time to look for this nightly and for being involved in their daily reading!

Maize and Blue Spirit Day

Hey Eagle Fans!

This Friday is the big Homecoming football game at Eagle Stadium. The game starts at 7 o’clock in the evening and there many activities happening before the game (see the below information) to entertain everyone! In celebration of Homecoming, we are asking all students to dress in their best Hudsonville gear for Friday. Wear maize and blue to support our school, and to show your Eagle Pride!

I will be wearing my blue and gold for the big game and I hope all the students will come ready to cheer on the Eagles. We even have some “SUPER” guests coming to school to help us get in the spirit of cheering on our team! BEAT GRAND HAVEN!

Once again, there will be a raffle for a 50” TV and gaming system to be given away at half time of the last home game on October 25.  Buy your raffle tickets at any home game for your chance to win this great prize.  This event is sponsored by the Hudsonville Education Foundation and all proceeds will be used to fund grants for resources and innovations that directly enhance the education of our students in Hudsonville Public Schools.

AND…the GEORGETOWN DUNK TANK time period is at 4:30 pm.  We will have Mr. Kooiker and Mrs. Stadt in the tank for 15 minutes.  (4:30 to 4:45pm).  Please come and support the HEF and take a turn at dunking these two  teachers.

MEAP Rules and Schedule…It’s HERE!!!

Hi Parents!

As you know from my earlier blog post (Oct 1), the MEAP begins this week.  I have listed our grade level test times below.  The test days are mandated by the State.
MEAP RULES:

On test days, all students must be on time.  If they are late, and the test has begun, they cannot take the test that day.  Late students will need to sit in the office until the test is completed and take the test on one of the make up dates (also mandated and determined by the state).

Furthermore, if you child needs to leave during the test time, any unanswered questions are scored as wrong.  We ask that you NOT interrupt the MEAP test schedule.

We want all children to do their very best.  This is a high stakes test and we want to do all we can to support them.

Thank you for your support!
Mrs. W’s MEAP Rules:  Please see that your child gets plenty of sleep and eats a good breakfast :)
